6 Weeks

DTwP/DTaP-1 Free: DTwP Paid: DTaP

Protects against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis.

Side effects

Fever, swelling at site, irritability. DTaP has fewer side effects than DTwP.

IPV-1 Free

Protects against polio (injectable).

Soreness at injection site

Hepatitis B-2 Free

Second dose.

Side effects

Mild soreness

Hib-1 Free

Protects against Haemophilus influenzae type b (meningitis, pneumonia). Free as part of pentavalent vaccine under UIP.

Redness at site, mild fever

Rotavirus-1 Free in select states Paid in private

Protects against rotavirus diarrhea (oral drops). Available free under UIP in many states.

Side effects

Mild diarrhea, irritability

PCV-1 (Pneumococcal conjugate) Free

Protects against pneumococcal disease. Free under UIP nationwide.

Protects against typhoid. IAP recommends from 9 months of age. No booster needed for conjugate vaccine.
